Piraeus Bank in Ukraine (the official name - Public joint stock company "Piraeus Bank ICB") is a part of the international banking group Piraeus Bank Group. Headquartered in Athens, Greece, with around 19K employees in offices in 8 countries around the world, Piraeus Bank Group offers a full range of financial products and services to approximately 6mn customers. Total assets of the Group amounted to €82,2 bn, net loans to €48,3 bn and customer deposits to €39,3 bn on September 30, 2016.
Piraeus Bank is today the leading Bank in Greece with 30% market share in terms of loans and 27% in terms of deposits.
Piraeus Bank Group started operating in Ukraine in September 2007 after the acquisition of the International Commercial Bank (ICB). JSC "Piraeus Bank ICB” is the legal successor of International Commercial Bank. Regional network of Piraeus Bank in Ukraine covers Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Odessa, Kharkiv and Cherkasy regions.
The assets of Piraeus Bank in Ukraine make mearly UAH 3 billion, deposits of individuals - UAH 1 billion, loan and investment portfolio - UAH 2 billion, the bank's capital – UAH 2 billion.
The Bank is authorized by the Pension Fund of Ukraine to make payments of pensions and financial assistance. The Bank is a member of Fund of Guaranteeing the Deposits of Individuals and Forum of Leading International Financial institutions (FLIFI).
Since March 2009, Piraeus Bank maintains the highest rating of deposits reliability (score "5") assigned by the rating agency Credit-Rating, that shows the bank's capacity to timely and in full make payments on existing deposits. Since June 2008, the credit rating of Piraeus Bank in Ukraine is uaA (stable) according to the national scale.
At the beginning 2017, Piraeus Bank has become a leader of “Top 100 rating”, in the category “The best invest loan” prepared Delo.ua portal and holding the first position in Top-20. Also, Piraeus Bank entered TOP-5 in categories: “Best Banks for SME”, “Best lenders for working capital financing”, and TOP-10 in thematic rankings: “Best overdraft terms”, “Best offers on payment and cash services”.
In 2016, Piraeus Bank entered the TOP-20 of the most reliable banks in the Ukraine according "New Time" magazine and the investment company Dragon Capital, took eleventh place.
According to business weekly newspaper “Business”, in 2016 Piraeus Bank entered the TOP-3 banks in nomination “New format” after two of the largest Ukrainian banks; TOP-10 in nomination “The best product for agribusiness”; TOP-10 “The best loan product” for implementation at “know-how” on consumer lending market.
In March 2014, Piraeus Bank entered TOP-3 banks in “The Best Internet Banking” nomination according to Kommersant-Ukraine business edition.
In February 2014, Piraeus Bank became the winner in "The Most Innovative Bank" category according to "InvestGazeta" business edition.
In December 2013, Piraeus Bank entered the TOP-3 banks with the most favorable credit card propositions according to “Lichniy schet” business magazine.
In March 2013, Piraeus Bank is a prize winner in the nomination "The most technologically advanced bank in the countries of GUAM", according to the "Banker" international magazine.
In October 2012, Piraeus Bank became number 5 on the Investgazeta’s list of the best e-banks of Ukraine.
Piraeus Bank was recognized to be the most dynamic bank in 2011 among the third group of banks volume of assets and one of the top three banks among the best employers according to UKRAINIAN BANKER AWARDS 2011 published by influential business magazine "InvestGazeta” ¹ 46 as of 05.12.2011.
In 2010, Piraeus Bank entered the Top10 of Banks that are trusted by investors according to the rating made by the Banker magazine.
