History of Piraeus Bank in Ukraine

History of the Bank originated in 1994 when the JSC “Bank Levada” was founded. In 1999, after the accession of new shareholders in Ukraine, Austria and the U.S. the bank was renamed as JSC “Commercial International Bank” (ICB). In 2001 the bank was joined by the JSC "Tavriya", which was one of the leading banking institutions in Crimea.

On September, 13, 2007, Piraeus Bank S.A. (Athens , Greece) announced the completion of the acquisition of 99,6% of the share capital of International Commercial Bank. Thus, the bank became a part of a powerful international banking group, Piraeus Bank Group. In 2008 the bank changed its official name to JSC “Piraeus Bank ICB”.

Regional network of Piraeus Bank in Ukraine covers 14 regions: the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zakarpattya, Kiev, Lviv, Odessa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr region.
Piraeus Bank is a member of Association of Ukrainian Banks, participant of the Fund of Guaranteeing the Deposits of Individuals. The Bank also included in the list of banks authorized by the Pension Fund of Ukraine to make payments of pensions and financial assistance.

January 2011 –

Bank registered a capital increase of UAH  100 million

March 2011 –

Bank became a member of the Forum of the leading international financial institutions (FLIFI)

June 2010 –

Bank has crossed the threshold of UAH 1 billion of deposit funds

July 2010 –

Bank entered the "TOP 10 Banks trusted by investors," according to the ranking of the Banker magazine

March 2009 –

Bank was assigned the highest rating of deposits (grade "5") from the rating agency "Credit Rating"

June 2008 –

The Bank's credit rating was revised upward to uaA

June 2007 –

Bank received a credit rating uaBBB + (stable) according to the national scale

January 2008 –

Bank changed its official name to JSC "Piraeus Bank ICB”

September 2007 –

Bank became part of a powerful international banking group, Piraeus Bank Group

May 2001 –

The International Commercial Bank (ICB) was joined by the JSC "Tavriya"

1999 –

Bank was renamed as the JSC "International Commercial Bank” (ICB)

1994 –

Establishment of the JSC “Bank Levada”
