It is for the first time since the launch of Chesnutt Race” annual sports and charitable campaign that is to be held on 7 September, 2014, the "Media Zone" will be installed by the Piraeus Bank.
This initiative is being implemented to ensure comfortable conditions for media representatives during the event, as it will be equipped with the access to the Internet, working materials will be placed in the very center of events that will allow journalists to get access to all the top persons on the event. In addition, representatives of the media will be able to leave the personal things, try snacks and beverages. "Media Zone" is a place for meeting, communication and work. A place where you can always chat with guests of the event, speakers (representatives of sponsors/partners), organizers and the winners of the Race.
Annually "Chestnut Race" opens the celebration of Kiev Day and was held on the last Sunday of May. This year's event was postponed to September due to the political circumstances in the country. Among the main objectives of the Race are the following: to draw public attention to the problems of infant mortality in Ukraine (funds collected during the event will be directed to the Center of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of Ukraine), to strengthen the positive attitude of the population to a healthy lifestyle, to develop the tradition of mutual society aid and to encourage companies to develop corporate social responsibility. The Race is attended by over 100 corporate teams, which consist from 5 to 12 000 employees. The first Race was held in 1993 gathering 150 participants.
Natalia Rodina, Head of Marketing and Communications of Piraeus Bank: "Piraeus Bank supports socially important initiatives and plans to expand its activity in corporate and social responsibility. Representatives of the media play a very important role in covering the event, correct representation of information and in further development of the project. That's why we believe it is important to provide them with comfortable working conditions."
