Starting September 1, Piraeus Bank Provides New Limits on Outgoing Transfers under the Memorandum of Ukrainian Banks
11 August 2025

Starting September 1, 2025, Piraeus Bank will implement new limits on outgoing transfers for individuals as part of a joint banking sector initiative to ensure transparency in the payment services market. This measure is stipulated by the Memorandum of Ukrainian Banks, signed by leading market participants under the coordination of banking associations and the National Bank of Ukraine.

What will change?

A general monthly limit on outgoing transfers for individuals will be introduced — UAH 100,000, including:

  • Up to UAH 50,000 per month — transfers using IBAN details (to other individuals);
  • Up to UAH 50,000 per month — card-to-card (P2P) transfers.

If you are a pensioner, unemployed, or a student, the general monthly limit for outgoing transfers will be UAH 50,000, including:

  • Up to UAH 25,000 per month — transfers using IBAN details (to other individuals);
  • Up to UAH 25,000 per month — card-to-card (P2P) transfers.

These restrictions do not apply to transfers to your own accounts in other banks or in favor of legal entities.

Who does this affect?

These limits apply only to transfers to other individuals. For 99% of clients, they will not affect regular account usage and will not require any action.

Clients receiving a salary to a Piraeus Bank account exceeding UAH 100,000 per month will automatically have a higher limit corresponding to their verified income level.

Transfers by volunteers with confirmed status — no limits apply.

How to check your limit?

The remaining limit for IBAN transfers can currently be clarified via the Contact Center.
Limits for card-to-card (P2P) transfers are available in the Winbank app.

We are working on updating the app so that all limits can be monitored independently.

How to increase your limit?

If you need a higher limit, you can apply and provide proof of income. To do this:

  • Contact us via the Winbank chat;
  • Call the Contact Center; or
  • Visit a branch.

Once income is verified, the limit can be individually reviewed.
Applications are processed within up to 3 business days. The response will be provided via the same channel you used to apply (chat, phone, or branch). The new limit will take effect immediately after confirmation.

What documents are required to confirm income?

One or more of the following documents are acceptable:

  • Copy of a personal income and property tax declaration;
  • Form 7-ОК or 5-ОК certificates (for the last reporting year);
  • Documents confirming inheritance, sale of property, or other assets;
  • Documents confirming dividends or income from company ownership;
  • Loan or financial assistance agreement, etc.

Why is this important?

The Banks’ Memorandum is an industry initiative aimed at reducing the shadow economy, combating fraud, and preventing the financing of hostile activities. It introduces unified and transparent approaches to monitoring financial transactions and setting limits for individuals without verified income.

Signing the Memorandum is a responsible step by the financial sector in support of Ukraine’s economic security.
