Winbank grows with you: new features and improvements in the app

At Piraeus Bank, we continue to consistently develop the Winbank mobile app as a key digital channel for everyday financial management. Our goal remains unchanged: convenience, service transparency, and an intuitive user experience that truly reflects our customers’ needs.

During the second half of 2025, the Piraeus Bank team rolled out a series of updates in Winbank aimed at improving functionality, app performance, and the personalization of customer interactions. Some of these changes were driven by user feedback, while others are part of the planned evolution of our digital platform.

What’s new in Winbank

Even easier transfers and payments

  • Improved QR functionality: codes are scanned faster and work more reliably for payments and transfers.
  • You can now include the transfer amount directly in the QR code, so the sender doesn’t need to enter it manually.
  • Along with the QR code, a special payment link (deeplink) is generated, making it easy to share via messengers or email for one-tap payments.
  • The bank has extended payment processing hours: IBAN payments are now processed 20/7, without being tied to the traditional “banking day.”
  • Piraeus Bank has connected to the Instant Credit Transfer (ICT) service, so most IBAN-to-IBAN transfers between individuals are credited to the recipient’s account within seconds.

Transparency and control over transactions and limits

  • Transfer details now show the reason for an unsuccessful transaction (for example, exceeding a card limit or an NBU limit).
  • Improved display of refund information for transactions.
  • An updated card limits management section with clearer navigation.
  • The ability to see how much foreign currency you’ve already purchased during the month and how much of the limit is still available.

Deposits and currency exchange without extra steps

  • When opening a deposit, the planned contract end date is now clearly displayed.
  • On the deposit maturity or rollover date, the interest rate display has been improved so you immediately see the current terms.
  • Up-to-date exchange rates are now available online in the “Payments” section, while card conversion rates are shown in card details.

Updated cards and profile

  • Added a visual indication of card status and convenient options for online card reissue.
  • Refreshed interface in card details and the “More” section, with a more modern look and improved navigation.
  • An updated home screen: your profile is now available directly on the main screen for quick access to security, language, and personalization settings.
  • Improved payment convenience, with key actions available without unnecessary extra steps.

Onboarding, BankID, and identification

  • During registration or data updates, you can now choose the document type—ID card or international passport—before being redirected to the Diia app.
  • Added clear information about the organization requesting your data when logging in via BankID.

Communication, personalization, and care

  • The “Notifications” section now brings together all important bank messages, including informational updates and Stories with news, tips, and Winbank features.
  • A new banner on the home screen highlights current events, services, and offers, with quick one-tap access to the relevant section.
  • We’ve added short in-app tips to help you easily discover new or updated features and make the most of Winbank.
  • Winbank celebrates with you: on your birthday, the app greets you with a personalized card.
  • Improved search for utility service providers.
