Piraeus Bank, as a responsible business partner, supported socially important initiative “Chesnutt Race 2014” in Kyiv.
It is for the first time since the launch of “Chesnutt Race” annual sports and charitable campaign that the "Media Zone" was installed and Piraeus Bank initiated it. This initiative was implemented to ensure comfortable conditions for media representatives during the event and it was equipped with the access to the Internet and working materials. Due to advantageous location – in the very center of events – the journalists got access to all the top persons on the event.
This year, the route length of 5 km was as following: Mykhailivska Square- Vladimirsky passage – Sophia Square – Vladimirskaya Str. – Lva Tolstogo Str. – Lva Tolstogo Square – Velyka Vasylkivska Str. and backwards. The"Chestnut Run" traditionally consisted of several parts: "Mileage walker" for children at a distance of 10 meters, children's running "dream team, that came true" – 210 healthy children who had surgery at the Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, professional athletes race, race wheelchair athletes with disabilities. The final event was a mass run in which Piraeus Bank team also took part.
Piraeus Bank plans to expand further the direction of corporate social responsibility, developing it not only as a company’s philosophy, but also as a personal initiative of each employee, because participation in charity events such as "Chestnut Run" brings together a team, strengthens team spirit and promotes a healthy lifestyle.
