Piraeus Bank will support the second annual sports and charitable campaign the "Chestnut Race", which is scheduled on Monday, June 1 in Kiev. As states the press service of the bank, this time Piraeus Bank will perform as a title partner of the event.
“As part of a large international financial Group, Piraeus Bank supports important social initiatives and systematically develops relations with the social partners. In case of Chestnut race such support is doubled: running helps both sides – the participants and children who require treatment. All gathered money will be applied for curing small patients and transferred to the Scientific Centre of Children's Cardiac Health of Ukraine,” – emphasized Ilias Mouzakis, member of the Board, retail banking director.
Among the main goals of the campaign are to draw public attention to the problem of infant mortality in Ukraine (as gathered during the event funds are transferred to the Center for Pediatric Cardiology) reinforce positive attitude of the population to healthy lifestyles, develop social tradition of mutual help and encourage companies to display social responsibility.
Last year the Race was held on 7th September and about 15ths people took part in a charity event. During the press conference the "Chestnut Race" organizers gave the Chief Doctor of the Center Vladimir Zhovnir the symbolic check in the amount of UAH 350 000 that were collected with the help of the participants and sponsors of the Race.
Earlier, the press service of the bank stated that Piraeus Bank act as a partner of “Chestnut Race” annual sports and charitable campaign and the bank was awarded with a "Gratitude to a Partner" diploma for active participation and valuable contribution in organization and conducting process of the project.
