Piraeus Bank and Activitis launch WEAGROBANK, a digital financial service for farmers
03 August 2026

Piraeus Bank and Activitis have announced the launch of WEAGROBANK*, a digital financial service designed for micro, small, and medium-sized agricultural businesses. The platform brings together banking services and digital solutions for agribusiness running within a single online environment.

WEAGROBANK was created in response to farmers’ growing need for fast, remote, and hassle-free access to financial services. For many small agricultural businesses, challenges extend beyond access to financing and include complex banking procedures, the need to visit physical branches, and significant time spent on day-to-day financial operations.

The new service aims to make banking simpler and more accessible for farmers regardless of their location. Through a single digital interface, users can manage accounts, make payments, monitor cash flows, access financial tools, and benefit from the broader WEAGRO ecosystem.

“For us, WEAGROBANK is more than just another digital channel. It is an example of how a bank and a fintech company can combine their strengths to create a fundamentally new customer experience. We have brought together the reliability and expertise of an international bank with the speed and innovation of fintech solutions. As a result, farmers gain access to a service that truly reflects the realities of their daily work,” said Yannis Kyriakopoulos, Chairman of the Management Board of Piraeus Bank Ukraine.

“WEAGROBANK is a natural next step in the development of the WEAGRO ecosystem. Our goal was to create an environment where financing, banking, and digital services work as one integrated system. This allows farmers to spend less time on administrative processes and more time growing their businesses,” commented Pavlo Matiiash, CEO of Activitis.

The partners view WEAGROBANK as an important step toward greater financial inclusion in Ukraine’s agricultural sector and the further development of digital financial services. The project combines Piraeus Bank’s long-standing experience working with agribusinesses and SMEs with Activitis’ technological expertise in embedded finance solutions.
